I remember signing up for Twitter and not really using it, as many of you probably have done too. This is because, I didn’t see the true benefits this service could bring which came about via a discussion with a fellow webmaster regarding the service, which prompted me to start to look for the advantages of Twitter.

Now that I’ve started using it properly (notice more updates recently) I think that Twitter is becoming a very effective tool indeed. See my profile here: http://www.twitter.com/profitbaron

1. Personal Branding. Since your using Twitter why not use to build your personal brand:?: Twitter can be used to develop and establish you with other users and make you appear as someone who is connected and approachable.
2. Traffic.As I’ve started to use Twitter, I have noticed that it has started to enter the top 5 traffic referrals to Profit Baron. Why not get more traffic to your site off Twitter :?: 
3. Feedback. Its great to have people’s opinions on something, so why not ask for feedback off other users on Twitter:?:
4. Acquire Votes.This is a great trick which I haven’t tried yet, so I’m not sure of its usability. However, when thinking of how I could use Twitter I came up with this, which will not only help you gain more votes for other sites i.e. Digg but boost your web-presence if they befriend you on Digg etc too:!:
5. To-Do list. Why not use Twitter, as a To-Do list since its a micro-blogging platform allowing only 140 characters which is just enough characters to be useful for a To-Do list
6. Network. Why not interact with other like-minded people and especially those in the same industry that you meet on Twitter:?:
7. Friends. Remember Twitter is still a social-network and therefore you can still befriend users.
8. News. Twitter users link to useful sites and articles about scoops and other news. Keep up-to-date with scoops and other news by using Twitter.
9. Take Notes. This is like a To-Do list which I mentioned on #5 because, Twitter allows you with an easy way to record ideas, concepts or notes (Note: other people will be able to read this too).
10. Prospects. Why not go out and find potential customers or clients online :?: (Note: Discretion and skill is required).
11. Business Management. Why not use Twitter as a company intranet There are a few problems with this including the fact that you’d have to ensure that updates are set to private for security reasons and that your employees don’t befriend company rivals too
12. Inform Customers. Why not provide your customers with updates regarding new products or services released by your company
13. Employ People. Need a job doing:?: Ask users on Twitter for recommendations, you’ll quickly receive replies for the right people to employ
14. Arrange Meetings. Why not arrange a few meetings over Twitter Its possible but, again I haven’t tried this method either, so i’m not sure how great this would work but the idea came up when thinking of methods I can actually use Twitter for.  

There are probably a few more ways you can use Twitter, these ideas came with about 10-15 minutes of thinking, if you can think of a few other methods why not disclose them below or share this article with your friends
