OpenAds Rebrands Again To OpenX
OpenAds have re-branded to OpenX, you can read the full story here but the more interesting fact is when will they re-brand again? So far they have re-branded a massive 5 times since they were originally called phpAds to the current OpenX.
Here’s all the names ”OpenX” has been called; phpAds, phpAdsNew, phpPgAds, Max Media Manager, OpenAds and now OpenX it seems that they’ll be in for a new name in the near future
Personally OpenAds was the best name of the lot for the type of service they was offering but then again, I’m not an investor in this venture.

I dont think it is such a good idea for them to keep changing their name. stick with one brand and go from there.
Hi Nicholas
Thanks for writing about us.
The OpenX software has a long open source history. A natural part of that is evolving the code, name and changing maintainers.
You might be interested in the thoughts of Niels who has been involved with the project from very early on:

We have no intention to change names again. Now that the rebranding is complete we can focus on making better tools for web publishers.
kind regards,

Another great news story from you Nicholas, its interesting the information about OpenX you gave us about the amount of times they’ve rebradned etc.
Hate the new name and hate the new layout!

@ Oliver:
Thank for taking your time and coming to comment on the blog, I’ve been meaning to write a post about companies replying to guest posts each time a company comes and responds to a blogpost so I will this time as I love using examples in my non-news posts usually.
@ Everyone Else:
Basically I was going to respond to each one of your comments personally but either way you all have the same type of theme.
Yes they have changed their name alot (although thanks to Oliver, we know they don’t have any more intentions of doing so). However the service they offer is great and something I keep meaning to implement onto this blog
Why so many name changes…Btw, i like this one the best.
