VentureBeat Gets $320k In First Round Funding

February 12th, 2008 By Nicholas James

Venture focused blog VentureBeat has taken a seed round of $320,000. It was founded in 2006 by ex-San Jose Mercury News writer Matt Marshall and has as its goal “to provide insider news and data about the entrepreneurial and venture community that is useful to decision makers.”

Mat Marshall said that the money would be used to take the site to the next stage which probably will also include paying Dean Takahashi’s salary. Takahashi is a new high profile signing for VentureBeat which was revealed last week

Remember today is the deadline to enter mini-contest to ensure you are able to win a few prizes :)
