AOL Boosts Ad Platform By Acquiring Buy.at

February 5th, 2008 By Nicholas James

Launched in 2002 buy.at has built up a larger operation in the United States than its initial plan when it launched as a UK operation. This lead to AOL being interested in acquiring the company and will see buy.at operating as a business unit of Advertising.com

The deal is rumoured to be worth around the $140 million mark, although as the amount wasn’t revealed we can’t reveal the exact figure. However what we can reveal is that it is a slight change of operations by AOL as their previous aquisations were more about ad serving rather than building closer relationships with retailers which this deal is all about.
