Why I Offloaded Blogrush

January 4th, 2008 By Nicholas James

According to Blogrush:

By adding the BlogRush Widget to a blog, a blogger can get instant distribution for their latest blog post titles across a network of related blogs

Some of you will remember when I got the blog going and added the blogrush widget well, the most important job you have to do to get click from blogrush is to write an amazing blogpost title or something stupid like “Official: Google are bankrupt” if you want blogrush to work.

Another point is that John Reese doesn’t even know how his own system works which is proven by clicking here. Note the point when he mentions “Unique Visitor” then he states it’s actually “impressions”(this is the number of times your blog post is shown on other blogs). This results in the chances of seeing a click through reduced significantly meaning, the service is worthless.

I think its time everyone offloads Blogrush unless, John Reese can work out the point of the system and sells the benefits of using it or changes its business model.

BlogRush was never really meant to work, and as so it never really worked. It is just a waste of “space” in your blog.

I’ve dumpd most of the space consuming widgets: MyBlogLog, BlogCatalog, BlogHub, EntreCard, etc… All they do is pass PR to the widget maker and take up valuable space on your blog.
