Goals For 2008
I’ve not forgotten about mentioning on 2007: A Year In Review about posting my goals for 2008.
Throughout the year, it is possible that I could add to the goals for 2008 or even offload one or two of these goals. Due to the nature of the online industry you need to allow yourself to be flexible to ensure maximum profits and minimal risk. However, I aim to achieve all of these goals set for 2008 by January 2009 :).
Goal 1: Adsung
I discussed Adsung changes briefly on the 2007: A Year In Review so it seemed right that I should set this goal first.
Basically, this system will be up and running in the middle of 2008. We are just ensuring the BETA of the new system is working efficiently with the members selected to test the new system. Adsung will now be based on categories and focusing on text advertisements soley. This will help to boost the amount of advertisements being offered to publisher in all sections and to advertisers to increase ability to display their advertisements on more websites. As well as, by focusing on text advertisements soley this will help us to become a leader in what we do. The new system will allow the user to choose perfectly blended ads as well as, choosing their colours, font size if the wished to do so.
The plan for Adsung is to get this new business model fully launched and growing much more rapidly than we were in 2007 when we launched to be able to gain market share on rivals in the advertising market.
Goal 2: Profit Baron dot Com
The goals for Profit Baron dot Com are to increase RSS Subscriptions to 1,000 RSS Readers or more. Although this initially sounds like a daunting task for any blog to achieve, I’ve not focused on really any marketing techniques for Profit Baron dot Com which will in 2008, include further Blogroll link exchanges, Guest Posts, A few contests and much more…
I also hope to get Profit Baron dot Com earning $xxx/month in revenue. Since by January 2009 the blog will be 15 months old which is sufficient time to get to this scale of revenue.
Goal 3: Upcoming Projects
I’ve decided to focus soley on premium sites for throughout 2008 and most likely onwards i.e 2009, 2010 etc. This is a great advantage to me personally as this will limit myself in the number of projects I will launch alongside existing projects as well as, allowing myself to dedicate my time evenly between these premium sites too.
Goal 4: Establish an effective working structure
I failed this in 2007 on a technical basis. I won’t this year. I’ve set aims and objective that need achieving with hard work and dedication and if I procrastinate too much then they won’t be achieve and I will be bitterly disappointed.
Goal 5: Earn More Than Last Year
Some people may see this as an obvious goal. However, this is a goal that should be set every year because, it aspires you to work harder and make that little extra revenue. Even if you increase revenues by 1% or even 400%, you’re giving yourself more money to spend on items you want and/or increasing your sites development, promotional activities etc.
My aim for 2008 is high $xx,xxx or more…which would be an increase on last year (2007).
