PodTech Will Be In The Deadpool Early 2008

December 28th, 2007 By Nicholas James

I’ve finally unearthed the reason to why Robert Scoble is leaving his job at PodTech to join Fast Company and starting Fast Company TV as well as finding out that Robert won’t be keeping his show at PodTech either - http://www.podtech.net/scobleshow/. Part of Robert’s move to Fast Company will Seagate following him to sponsor the new Fast Company TV which is a blow to PodTech as Seagate are large sum to sponsor the show which they need to keep afloat.

PodTech have almost munched up all of their $7.5 Million funding they raised from two rounds led by US Venture Partners and Venrock Associates. This hasn’t been a great year for the company since founder and CEO John Furrier left the company back in August.

Sources inside PodTech say the firm is restructuring and changing its business model, whereas, sources around the venture capitalists are concerned with the amount of money its burned for the minimal return its bringing them which is why they are looking to pull the plug on the firm in early 2008 if they don’t start to show any major improvements.
